Old Fashioned Pancakes



1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon white sugar
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 egg
1 1/4 cups milk
cooking spray


  1. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large bowl.
  2. Whisk in melted butter, egg, and milk until combined. Let batter rest for 5 minutes.
  3. Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Spray with cooking spray. Pour batter into the hot skillet, about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes, until bubbles appear on the sides and center of each pancake. Flip and cook until golden, about 1 to 2 minutes.



Peanut Butter & Banana Wrap

Breakfast time can be a rushed event in our house and sometimes I run out the door without realizing I skipped it completely.  But this Peanut Butter & Banana Wrap is a great on the go breakfast. Feel free to add or subtract any ingredients, it will still taste amazing.


1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
4 whole wheat or regular flour tortillas (8 to 10 inches in diameter)
1/4 cup honey
2 small bananas, sliced
1/4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips, if desired


  1. Spread 2 tablespoons of the peanut butter evenly over each tortilla. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of the honey over each tortilla. Top with banana slices and chocolate chips.
  2. Roll up tortillas.


Grilled Grapefruit

Grilled fruit is the perfect summer treat for me.  It brings out the natural sweetness of the fruit and tastes so refreshing.  This grilled grapefruit was a great way to start off my morning.


1 large grapefruit
dash of cinnamon


  1. Preheat grill on medium and oil grates
  2. Cut grapefruit in half and place flesh side down on to grill for 3-5 minutes (just until grill marks appear on and grapefruit is warm)
  3. Sprinkle with desired amount of cinnamon



Banana Berry Smoothie

I have coveted these Jamba Juice recipes for a long time. I found the recipes for all of Jamba Juices smoothies a while ago and I have yet to find one that doesn’t take like the original. I love smoothies I often eat them for breakfast or lunch. They are all very simple recipes to follow and I was surprised how little ingredients they have and they are the fastest snack to make. Here are 3 of my favorite recipes for Smoothies


Banana Berry

12 oz. Apple Juice
2 scoops frozen bananas
1 scoop frozen blueberries
1 scoop frozen yogurt
1 scoop raspberry sherbet
1 scoop ice

Pink Starburst

6 oz lemonade
6 oz soy milk
1 scoop raspberry sherbet
2 scoops frozen yogurt
2 scoops frozen strawberries
1 scoop ice
1 scoop is about 1/2 cup

Cold Buster

12 oz orange juice
2 scoops frozen peaches
1 scoop frozen bananas
2 scoops orange sherbet
1 scoop ice

1 scoop is about 1/2 cup

8 oz is 1 cup
